In September 2003, we opened the first bed and breakfast in the upper city: Within the Walls. We started this business because we wanted to share the experience of living in an ancient historic village, opening the doors of our home in the upper city. At that time, in 2003, the neighbors looked at us with curiosity, friends did not understand our choice: we were the first family in the upper city to host "strangers". In March 2016, after 13 years, we opened our second bed and breakfast in another ancient historic village in Bergamo, San Tomaso, near the Carrara Fine Arts Academy, the artistic district of Bergamo: Fine Arts. Within the Walls and Fine Arts are historic residences, skillfully renovated to offer maximum comfort to our guests, while preserving the ancient charm and respecting the original harmonies. Our interior rooms are characterized by simplicity and good taste, enhancing the original elements of the houses such as columns and wells, stone stairs, exposed beams, and inner gardens.

The strategic location of this bed and breakfast allows easy access to important attractions: just a 5-minute walk away are the Carrara Academy, the Modern Art Gallery, the Oratory of San Lupo, and the Diocesan Museum. In just a 10-minute walk, you can reach Porta Sant'Agostino, the majestic entrance to the Upper City, or the shopping center in the Lower City. Restaurants, cafes, shops, and a supermarket are right at the end of the street, in Borgo Santa Caterina, a charming village. In less than 10 minutes on foot, you can reach the bus stop for the train station and the airport. A car is not necessary, but if you want to bring it with you, we will provide you with a permit to park nearby.

Fine Arts exclusively offers rooms with private bathrooms and breakfast has been suspended.
